history
Rule Dale Cordial
THE pt GROUPSM gives over 29 Years of Hands on Care
Playing the game of health care has become increasingly difficult in the last decade. The rules are constantly changing and the playing field is never the same.  But one western Pennsylvania health care provider is proving that you can stay in the game and sometimes even win.

THE pt GROUP, led by founder Dale J. Cordial, PT, provides acute physical therapy for work, motor vehicle, sports, general orthopedic injuries and neurological/balance disorders.  Cordial says the secret to his company's success is simply "giving a very high level of care at a reasonable cost."  In 2007, the company celebrated its 29th year in business.

THE pt GROUP, besides acute physical therapy, has developed Work Recovery Centers, Physical Therapy For Women, and Balance Therapy.  The company employs nearly 100 people at 20 locations in Allegheny, Armstrong, Indiana, and Westmoreland counties.

"In the last 29 years, the healthcare field has really changed."  Cordial says.  "We are very proud of the fact that in a market of managed care, we have not had to change the quality of our care.  We have continued to get more efficient so that we can maintain our standards without having to change our clinical philosophy in any way."

Practice Management Services
THE pt GROUPSM provides comprehensive management services to its clinical offices, thus enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the clinical practice sites. The philosophy is to aid in the development of practice systems, thereby assisting private practice health care providers in delivering high quality health care. This is accomplished by combining the latest technological advances along with economies of scale and cost- efficient clinic operations. We advocate an environment that provides personalized professional service for all clients at a reasonable cost. THE pt GROUPSM further is dedicated to maintaining a stable staff and to continuing efforts of motivation, education, and teamwork.

In order to measure and monitor the satisfaction levels of its customers,
THE pt GROUP
SM advocates the ongoing collection of data relating to the personal impressions and experiences of external customers, specifically clients and physicians, as well as from its internal customers or employees.

The client satisfaction survey process is initiated by the clinical staff members who provide the data collection instruments to clients after they have had an opportunity to experience the rehabilitation services and treatments.  On completion, the surveys are returned to the Continuous Quality Improvement Department for initial screening by the Director.  Identified opportunities for improvement are immediately communicated to the appropriate Physical Therapist/Office Manager, and individual client follow up via telephone may be implemented, as necessary.  Particular issues, including constructive feedback and favorable remarks, are shared with the involved staff members.  Periodically, results of client satisfaction surveys are published in the practice's newsletters, including both the statistical results and the narrative comments.  Our practice has consistently achieved an overall client satisfaction score exceeding 4.75 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest possible score and 5 representing the best score.

In terms of assessing the staff's satisfaction with employment, periodic internal customer surveys are developed, administered, and analyzed through the Continuous Quality Improvement Department.  Suggestions are thoughtfully considered by the administrative team who offers appropriate recommendations for positive change to the executive officers/partners.

In summary, THE pt GROUP
SM recognizes the value of its customers' perceptions and opinions and remains committed to achieving the primary goal of total quality satisfaction.
